Alternate Transportation while your Chevrolet is being serviced

If your Chevrolet is repaired under General Motors Major Guard, you're covered for alternate transportation. GM Major Guard will pay the cost to rent a replacement vehicle or for public transportation (some limits apply) when:

Two or more manufacturer's labor time guide hours are required for the repair, or
Your vehicle is not drivable and must be kept overnight**

Trip Interruption if your Chevrolet breaks down away from home

If you are on a trip in your Chevrolet, more than 100 miles from home, but haven't reached your final destination, Chevrolet Major Guard will reimburse you up to $150 per day ($750 maximum), for any unplanned hotel and/or restaurant expenses incurred if a covered component fails and requires your vehicle be kept overnight to repair. All work must be completed at a licensed repair facility. No deductible will apply to the lodging and meal allowance and original receipts must be provided.

If your Chevrolet New Vehicle Limited or Powertrain Warranty is in effect, Trip Interuption will pay the amount that is in excess of the amount covered by warranty. ** Trip Interuption and Locksmith/Key services are not available in Kansas.

Is GMPP Major Guard a Chevrolet Extended Warranty?

A GMPP Major Guard service contract is a promise to perform (or pay for) certain repairs of services. Most consumers call this a "Chevrolet Extended Warranty", however a Chevrolet service contract is not a extended warranty as defined by federal law. The separate and additional cost distinguishes a service contract from a Chevrolet warranty. A General Motors Protection Plan (GMPP) may be arranged at any time and always costs extra; a Chevrolet factory warranty comes with a new Chevrolet and is included in the original price of the vehicle.
